Here at Living Word Ministries
we take seriously Jesus’ commission from Matthew to “go
into all the world and make disciples.” In order to assist
God’s people in obeying this command, the leadership has planned
many different opportunities to minister in our community. These
are some of the opportunities available to you.
Annually:
4th
of July Festival
The Cumberland County 4th of July Festival comes
annually and is a great opportunity to reach out to the community.
This past year, LWM sponsored an inflatables park for the children
of our community. Volunteers are needed to oversee each of the activities
as well as interact with the lost.
Cumberland
County Fair
The Fair is the largest Speed-the-Light fund-raising
opportunity of the year. This is a great opportunity to raise funds
for missions while sharing the love of Jesus with the community.
Volunteers are needed to cook burgers, sell Cokes, make popcorn,
and park cars. Now help will be refused!
Kids
Day Camp
Kids Day Camp is an opportunity to provide a valuable
service to the parents of our community while sharing the love of
Jesus with their children. Kids Day Camp is offered for elementary
aged school children during Spring Break and Fall Break. Volunteers
are needed to cook meals for the campers, to help with crafts, games,
and other activities.
Tailgate
Party
During the summer a team goes out to the streets
of Burkesville on Friday nights. Our team goes to share hamburgers,
hotdogs, cokes, and the love of Jesus with the young people of our
community. Volunteers are needed to cook, shoot hoops, and build
relationships.
